Wood awarded St. Baldrick’s Foundation grant

Kris Wood, PhD, Professor of Pharmacology and Cancer Biology, has been awarded a St. Baldrick's Foundation grant to study CIC::DUX4, a mutated protein that causes a deadly subset of pediatric cancers. One of 26 projects awarded, this two-year study "will identify a highly promising new therapeutic strategy for CIC::DUX4 sarcoma while also revealing insights that could lead to additional new types of drugs for this disease."

Since 2000, the St. Baldrick's Foundation has funded more than $368 million in research grants to study childhood cancer research.
