Hawgood and Prochazka awarded Lung Cancer Initiative fellowships

Bryony Hawgood, a Cell and Molecular Biology PhD student in the lab of Trudy Oliver, PhD, and Patrick Prochazka, a Molecular Cancer Biology PhD student in the lab of Christopher Counter, PhD, have Lung Cancer Initiative fellowships effective July 1, 2026. These one-year fellowships provide stipends to students across North and South Carolina "who wish to pursue a career in lung cancer research, diagnosis, treatment and/or care." 

The mission of the Lung Cancer Initiative (LCI) is "to advance survivorship and provide support to those affected by lung cancer through research, education and access programs."
